Lake Tahoe September 2005

Linda, Barry Cahrlene and Bob go to Lake Tahoe and stay at the Tahoe Chaparral Condominiums near Diamond Peak Ski Resort. Linda took her camera, we neglected to take ours. These pictures are complements of Linda Winthers, Thanks Linda!  Everyone enjoy!

Linda, Barry and Charlene at Garwood's Dock looking across the lake.

Barry, Charlene and Bob on Garwood's Pier looking back at the restaurant.

A great fall color kind of day.

Linda and Charlene enjoying the fall colors int he background of the lake.

Some of that fall color.

More of the fall color? Pretty, just the same.

Barry at the Hyatt Incline Village Pier.

More fall berries and color.

Stopped for a rest.

Bob on the pier at Sunnyside.

The new bridge at the dam in Tahoe city.

More from the bridge at Tahoe City lookinbg into the lake.

Looking across to the Park Museum in Tahoe City.

Across the path to the Park Museum.

Looking at the dam from the road bridge.

Watching the "Red-Tufted Conoquin" or as Linda would say "Common Merganser".

"Oh No! Where did his head go?"

On to the George Whitell Estate...here is the cook and butler's house.

Across the grounds towards the lake.

Great views everywhere we looked.  A perfect day.

The elephant compound, of course!

This shows the Dreyfuss addition, as well.

Great scenes of the lake.

The let side of the house with the Scarpetti(?) metal work.

What a spectacular wardrobe!

The 35 mm movie projector.

Seating by the fireplace int he main house.

Some of the old kitchen utensils.

The official appliances, humble and almost austere.

"See Charlene, there is a light at the end of the tunne!" The tunnel form the house to the lake.

The Thunderbird just sits waiting to be taken out.

The George Whitell poster with the Thunderbird boat.

Another great view from the yard.

A sea wall like no other.

The light that was installed to get from Cal-Neva Casino back to the house.

The Scarpetti (?) ducks on the other side of the house.

The same Cal-Neva light, different perspective.

Looks like a great place to lunch.

The old boat house and beach.

A wonderful view outside the poker room.

Inside the Poker room.  Never more than seven positions.

The roof supports are hand hewn.

The main house with the old boat house in the foreground.

The front entryway.

Many of the old water falls are still working.

The Lake Queen coming into pier at Zypher Cove.

Taylor Creek, just down the road from Camp Richardson in the south of the lake.

The Kokane in the spawning mode.

Both have the colors but the male has the hooked jaw.

The colors were unusual.

We could have watched them for hours.

A remnant of the Monarch Butterfly colony.

A beautiful day in Taylor Creek.

The open viewing area has a great display worth seeing and reading.

The viewing tanks at Taylor Creek.  Rainbows and a Bluegill.

The Kokane were everyhere gathering.

Not only a beautiful week but the nights were special as well.

Across the lake at the Hyatt Pier.

Art work just about everywhere!

Here we are at the top of Marriott's Heavely Ski Area.

The views are breathtaking.

You can see just everywhere, when the weather cooperates.

On the ride down, it "ain't" so bad!

Barry at one of the carving poles at the Marriott.

Looking back up the tram towards the top.

Snowshoe Thompson.

The Snowshoe Thompson Brief.

Thanks, again Linda, for so many of those great shots.
